Quality in Mental Health - Your Views
Report on Stakeholder Consultation on Quality in Mental Health Services. Mental Health Commission Ireland (January 2005).
The
Mental Health Commission plans to develop and implement a quality
framework for mental health services in Ireland. The framework will be
used by the Commission to support continuous improvement in the quality
of mental health services. As a first step in developing the quality
framework, The Mental Health Commission engaged Prospectus to design
and manage a consultation process aimed at gathering the views and
perspectives of all stakeholders as to what constitutes quality in
mental health services. The quality framework will build on and
encompass these different perspectives. This report describes the
findings from the consultation process, conducted over the period May –
August 2004.

person) to create a small, not-for-profit association to address the
individual’s needs in an empowering and customised fashion. Person
Centred Planning (PCP) is central to the Microboard concept. It is the

to ensure that there is an unencumbered focus on the identity, needs

Models of Service Provision to Adults with an Intellectual Disability with Co-existing Mental Illness
(Dual
Diagnosis) August 2002, Developmental Disability Unit, School of
Population Health, The University of Queensland, Funded by Queensland
Health and The Department of the
Premier and Cabinet.
The
Developmental Disability Unit, (School of Population Health, The
University of Queensland), developed the report on behalf of an across
government working group with representatives of the three Departments.
The aim of the report is to provide a review of the available evidence
about suitable models for providing services to individuals with a dual
diagnosis, who require the services of more than one Department. It
contains an examination of published literature, and examination of
approaches used in a number of other selected jurisdictions, via
material available on the internet and through personal communication
with researchers and service providers in a number of western nations.
The review will inform Queensland Government departments about
appropriate models of care, and assist Queensland service providers to
develop best practice models of care for these very disadvantaged
