The World Health Organisation has launched the first
World Disability Report
(June 2011). The aim of the report is to provide evidence about what works to overcome barriers to health care, rehabilitation, education, employment, and support services, and to create the environments which will enable people with disabilities to flourish. The report ends with a concrete set of recommended actions for governments and their partners.
Mansell J and Beadle-Brown J (2008)
Dispersed or clustered housing for disabled adults: a systematic review.
Canterbury: Tizard Centre. The National Disability Authority commissioned this report which examines international research findings comparing the impact on quality of life of two different types of housing for people with disabilities; clustered communities of housing built for and inhabited only by people with disabilities versus integrated housing in existing communities. This research was carried out for the National Disability Authority by the Tizard Centre, University of Kent.
