Master Class 2, A Day in the Life - Exciting Developments in Day Supports for persons with Intellectual Disability, took place in the Tullamore Court Hotel on Wednesday 16th June 2010 from 10.00am - 4.00pm.
Masterclass 2 looked at creative ways in which persons with disabilities will be able to attain and maintain maximum independence, full physical, mental, social and vocational ability and full inclusion and participation in all aspects of life as outlined in Articles 26 & 27 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. We recognise the right of persons with disabilities to work on an equal basis with others; this includes the right to the opportunity to gain a living by work freely chosen or accepted in a labour market and work environment that is open, inclusive and accessible to persons with disabilities.
But how do we get there? And what can we learn from each other in the process?
We put together an exciting programme of what we believe to be innovative practices in this area which promote inclusive models of support which are cost effective and person centred.
The seminar included presentations on:
The Open Road
