Preparing for Regulation: Information Sessions for Providers of Residential
Centres for Children and Adults with Disabilities
The Health Information and Quality Authority will begin the regulation and inspection of residential and residential respite centres for children and adults with disabilities in the near future. The Health Act 2007 empowers the Authority to carry out this function through the processes of registration, continuous monitoring and inspection and, where necessary, the application of its powers of enforcement.
The commencement of regulation and the introduction of national standards also have an important role in driving continuous improvement in the quality of care and quality of life for persons with disabilities living in residential care.
At this time, HIQA is providing information sessions on preparing for regulation and what this will mean for you as a service provider.
There will be four identical sessions; three from 11:00 to 13:00hrs on the dates listed below and a second session from 14:30 to 16:30hrs in HIQA's Dublin Regional Office.
