Service Level Arrangements

Statutory responsibility for the provision of services to people with an intellectual disability rests with the Health Services Executive (HSE). The HSE either provide services directly or engage with voluntary organisations who can provide the services on their behalf.

When a voluntary agency is engaged to provide services on behalf of the HSE, the HSE discharges its responsibility via a Service Level Arrangement.

Service Level Arrangement documentation is subject to ongoing review which is carried out under the auspices of the Oversight and Development Forum which comprises representation by National Federation of Voluntary Bodies, Disability Federation of Ireland, Not for Profit Association and HSE. 

There are numerous procedures, policies, codes of practice and guidance documents required by the HSE in the context of SLAs which we have outlined in documents below which we hope will be of assistance to member organisations in completing their SLAs.
