National Home-Sharing Network Event - Room for One More: How to Set up and Run a Host Family Support Service

(19 Feb 2013)

The National Home-Sharing Network is running a one-day event on how to set up and run a host family support service. The event is being presented by Brothers of Charity Services Galway and AbilityWest.

This ‘Master Class’ is for anyone interested in setting up a Host Family Support service to provide short breaks and long term accommodation for citizens with a disability. It is being held in response to enquiries from those who missed the original two-day class in Galway, in March 2012. Host Family Support is an inclusive model recommended by the National Working Group and recognised in the HSE National Service Plan 2012 and in the Value for Money Review group, as an efficient quality alternative to traditional congregated 'respite' and 'residential care'.

The master class will be held on Thursday 28th February from 9.30am - 4.30pm, in the Ashling Hotel, Parkgate Street, Dublin 8 (2 minutes walk from Heuston Station).

Cost is €40 NHSN members and €50 for non-members.
