The National Federation are hosting a one day event on the policy and legislative developments in relation to children, including the Children’s First, Bill on Tuesday 10th March, 2015 in the Heritage Hotel in Portlaoise.

This event will provide an opportunity for all those working in the disability sector - CEO’s, decision makers and frontline staff working in the area of children’s disability services, child protection & welfare - to network, share information and hear presentations on the following topics:
- Overview of key legislation - implications and legal responsibilities facing organisations;
- Tusla - overview of the Child & Family Agency & its engagement with the disability sector;
- Issues arising for service providers in putting children with a disability first & dealing with child protection / welfare concerns.
- An Garda Siochana - the obligation on organisations in reporting child protection concerns.
- Overview of the HSE’s Children First Implementation Plan.
The event will provide delegates with the opportunity to hear from leading experts in this area, to network and discuss issues and concerns relating to child protection / welfare in their practice.
Cost: €55.00 with a special rate of €30 for people with disabilities and their families.
