Informing Families shortlisted for HSE Achievement Award

The National Federation's Informing Families Project has been announced by the HSE Achievement Awards as one of the five shortlisted projects from the HSE South region. The national awards will be announced in the Mansion House on 24 November 2010.

National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities

Minister for Social Protection, Éamon Ó Cuív, TD this afternoon (5th October 2010) announced that a new National Advocacy Service for people with disabilities will be set up under the Citizens Information Board. The new Service will provide independent, representative advocacy services for people with disabilities and will be in place from January 2011.

Requests for application forms come primarily from individuals, groups and organisations with an involvement in the provision of health services to specific client groups (for example persons with an intellectual disability and/or physical disability, elderly, etc.), national groups providing information and support for various disabilities and illnesses and groups with a specific interest (for example to provide holidays for elderly, equipment for hospitals, homes, etc.).
