Lucy McGivney painted this and sent it into the National Federation office for this year's art competition. There was a panel of judges that came together to pick a winning picture from a few hundred entries. It was a very difficult task, but in the end a winning picture had to be chosen. It was felt that the beauty and colours and techniques used in Lucy's entry would make it the winning picture for this year. Lucy's picture will be used as the cover of the NIDD Committee annual report. There will be an award ceremony held later in the year, in which the Minister John Moloney will award Lucy McGivney with a prize for her hard work.
The team in the National Federation would like to sincerely thank everyone who entered this year and would like to acknowledge the amazing standards and quality of the drawings. And we look forward to next year's art competition with excitement.
