Galway Film Fleadh hosts film premiere!

The National Federation of Voluntary Bodies was delighted to support the Irish premiere of ‘Monica and David’ at the Galway Film Fleadh on Wednesday 7th July 2010 at 2pm in the Town Hall Theatre, Galway.

This documentary film depicts the engagement, wedding and first year of marriage of Monica and David, a couple in the US who both have Down Syndrome. It was followed by a debate looking at relationships and intellectual disability in Ireland.

We would like to thank everybody who supported this very exciting premiere and for contributing to the lively debate afterwards, especially for people who shared their own experiences with the audience members. Fergus Finlay chaired a stimulating panel discussion including a couple from Limerick who are engaged to be married, a parent of child with an intellectual disability,
